Sir,
Board of Trade to Foreign Office.--(Received August 7.)
Board of Trade, August 6, 1907.
I AM directed by the Board of Trade to refer to your letter of the 24th instant, transmitting a copy of a despatch which has been received from His Majesty's Minister at Peking on the subject of the new Trade-mark Regulations which have been drafted by the Chinese Government, and, in reply, to state that they fully agree with Sir E. Grey's proposal to inform His Majesty's Minister that the Government adhere to the position that the Foreign Representatives' draft of 1905 must be the basis of all future negotiations.
I am, &c.
